The anatomical, morphological and cytogenetic studies on Limonium lilacinum (Boiss. & Bal.) wagenitz distributed in Afyonkarahisar and environs

In this study, the anatomical, morphological and karyotype analysis of Limonium lilacinum distributed in Afyonkarahisar and environs were examined. The aims of this study were ;to determine the role of this plant on the systematic by examining its anatomical and morphological features ;to help the next studies which would be done about the same topic ;to clarify the detailed morphology of chromosomes. In root cross-sections, rhizodermis in the outer most layer of the root, cortex, phloem and xylem having scleranchyma rings and pith rays. Amphystomatic leaves have anisositic type stomata. Sessile glands deposite crystal salt. In midrip of leaf scleranchimatic cells surrounds the floem. In the cytogenetic studies, diploid chromosome number was counted as 2n=36. Basic chrosomosome number was 18. One pair of satellite in metaphase was observed. Key words : Limonium lilacinum, cytogenetic, anatomy.
