To be examıned carefully the smokıng habıts of physıcal educatıon and sport teachers who employee ın Afyonkarahısar cıty

With this study; the function of cigarette addiction of Physical Education and Sports Teachers that is thought to be highly effective on the age of cigarette starting period of individuals, is aimed to be defined.The universe of study come into exıstence 142 physical education and sport teachers who work at primary,seconndary school in villages,towns and in the center Afyonkarahisarin the ministery of National Education (M.E.B) in 2006-2007 academic year. The samples of could be taken from 130 physical education and sport teachers.The %36,9 percent of the teachers foined the interview are between 26 and 30 yeras old. %75,4 percent of these teachers are male (n:98) and %24,6 percent of these teachers are female (n:32) The inquiry from include 55 questions vas asked to these teachers. At the evaluation of inquiry from qui-square (ki-kare) analyse was made with SPSS 11.01 packet programme, frequency (f) dispersal (%) and the level of meaningful was determined as p<0.05.The smoking prevalence of the teachers who joined the interview had been found as %43,1 percentThe %36,9 percent of these teachers are (48 people) between 26 and 30 yearsold group and the %43,8 percent of these teachers (28 people) who are have smoked cigarettes. The teachers who have smoked (n:56) is percent of %71.4 is male (40 teachers) and the percent %28,6 is female. (16 teachers)We see that at the first step the reason of beginning smoke isfrıends effects with %42.9 percent.Fallow pleasure with %23,2 percent and with %19,6 percent affectation.Both male and female the beginning age of smoke have been seen as 18 and over mostly. The rate of male is %67,5 percent the fate of femal %75 percent. The rate of trying to give up smoking is %58,9 percent and the rate of the teachers who intend to give up is %82,1 percent, the rate of smoking is %46,4 percent. The group inwhich nobody smokes in their families. The group inwhich have smoked in their families is %53,6 percent. The group who smoked do sport regularly with the rate of %39,3 percent and the rate of %60,7 percent not to do ant sports.The rate of %92,9 percent teachers who smoke next to the students have determined is servin as a bad model, The rate of %83,9 percent teachers think that the smoker teachers increased the affectation of smoking.The teachers at 36 and over 36 years old smoke cigarettes which are produced in Turkiye with the rate %77,8 percent,all the teachers at the group between 20 and 25 years old smoke import cigarettes completely (100 %). Amongs the age groups and kinds os cigarettes have meaningful differences as statistics (p<0.05).The rate of consuming cigarettes daily have a meaningful differences as statistics with the sexual groups. We see that 50 percent of male and the %37,5 percent of female consume between 11 and 20 smoking cigarettes daily.As a result the smoking prevelance of Physical Educatıon and Sports teachers had been seen very high and smoking habits has been observed as an addiction gained at the earlier ages.
