Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, the change with different terms of wear resistance of aggregates were investigated. For this purpose, Los Angeles abrasion test was used. The type of aggregate, number of ball which increased, the fixed weight of ball and the revolution number were examined the effect on the wear resistance parameters. The Los Angeles abrasion test was applied on the different aggregates such as limestone and marble. Firstly, Los Angeles abrasion with 6-12-18-24-30 balls were made to investigate the effect of ball numbers over wear abrasion resistance. Secondly, wear tests with 12-48-96 balls being 5000 gr weight were made again. In addition, with the standard number of 500 rpm 1000, 1500 and 2000 revolution abrasion were made to examine the relationship between the number of revolutions and abrasion in the experiment carried out in both the first and second group. After, having the dosage of 300, 350 and 400 kg concrete samples were produced to examine the relationship between concrete strength and abrasion resistance of aggregate. Pressure and splitting tensile tests were conducted on these samples. In the introduction, it has been given the purpose of this study. In the second part, the wear and wear making tools are described and it was reported to study of researchers about abrasion resistance of aggregates. In the third part, the experimental program was mentioned. The materials used in experiments, the properties of materials and the performed experiments are described in detail. In the fourth section, especially the abrasion resistance of aggregate and the pressure and splitting tensile test results of concrete samples produced with these aggregates are shown clearly in tables and graphs. In the fifth part, the results of the previous section were evaluated and interpreted. Finally, in chapter six, the results of this thesis was given as substances
