The relationship of agression with depressive symptoms and impulsivity

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship of aggression with depressive symptoms and impulsivity in people between the ages of 20-50. In this research, 436 people participated from the different provinces in Turkey. Buss Perry Aggression Scale, Beck Depression Scale and Barratt Impulsivity Scale were applied to the participants in the study. As a result of the research, no statistically significant relationship was found between depressive symptoms and aggression. A positive relationship was found between depressive symptoms and impulsivity. A statistically significant relationship was found between aggression and impulsivity. According to the findings of the research, it was observed that the total scores of the male participants' physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger and hostility scales were higher than the female participants. Male participants' attention deficit and motor impulsivity scores were higher than female participants. It was concluded that individuals with low income levels had higher depression scores than individuals with medium or high income levels. It was found that depressive symptoms also had a significant relationship with the level of education.
