Abstract (EN)
In the chaotic environment where there were factions about the regime in the new Turkish State, which would be born from the ashes of the Ottoman Empire like the Phoenix (Phoenix) while the Ottoman Empire was retreating from the stage of history, democratization movements such as Sened-i Alliance (1808), Tanzimat Edict (1839), Islahat Edict (1856), I. Constitutional Monarchy (1876) and II. Constitutional Monarchy, which the Turkish people had experienced, served as a host to the leading staff of the Turkish War of Independence and the Turkish people. In the first part of this study, the democratization movements of the Ottoman Empire such as the Sened-i Alliance (1808), the Tanzimat Edict (1839), the Reform Edict (1856), the Constitutional Monarchy I (1876) and the Constitutional Monarchy II (1908) will be examined. In the second part of the thesis, the political parties that were established during the Second Constitutional Monarchy Period, when the Ottoman Empire switched to multi-party political life, and which guided the political life of that period will be analyzed. In particular, the Union and Progress Committee and Union of Union and Progress and Union of Mohammadiyah will be analyzed, as well as other parties representing different groups in political life during the Constitutional Monarchy Period. In the third part of the thesis, the program of the Ottoman Ahali Economy Party, founded by the merchant Mehmet Nuri Bey from Ermenek and his friends during the Armistice Period, and the effects of this program on Turkish political life will be examined. In its short political life, the Ottoman Ahali Economic Party tried to leave an important impact on our history in terms of constantly emphasizing the concept of nationalism in its program and mentioning personal and social rights.
