Abstract (EN)

C.pneumoniae is one of the important itracelular pathogens that primarily settles in the lower respiratory tract and causes atypical pneumoniae.[1] Its only knon natural host is hummans.[2] It has been shown to cause various respiratory diseases such as community-acquired pneumoniae, pharyngitis, bronchitis, sinusitisacute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma. Lung cancer is one of the deadlies cancer diseases despitte the improved diagnosis and treatment methods. Its inciidence s high in many parts of he world.although smoking has been identified as an important factor especially for certain types of lung cancer, risks include radon, asbestos, some metalsand air pollution, occupational or environmental exposure, hormoes, genetic predisposition and chronic bacteria diseases such as C.pneumoniae factors.[3] In our study; seropositivity and molecular genetics of C.pneumoniae using Immuno Fluorescence Assay (IFA) and Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA) methods and PCR-Sequence analysis method targeting outer membrane protein gene CNP25 and 16S rRNA gene regions in lung cancer patients and hhealthy individuals. It is aimed to examine the incidence of C.pneumoniae and to determine the effect of C.pneumoniae on the development of lung cancer.
