Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the geopolitics of the "Eastern Mediterranean" region, the effects of the developments in the region on the global military, economic and political systems, and the approaches of the states that have a coast to the Eastern Mediterranean on the region. In this context, it is aimed to reveal the geographical and political boundaries of the "Eastern Mediterranean" region, to define its strategic position with its energy resources, trade routes, and to evaluate the moves that develop over the region's today's energy geopolitics. One of the biggest needs of today is energy source. At this point, the Eastern Mediterranean is a region where international attention is gathered as an energy basin. Actors who want to become an economic and political power with the gains from the region show up in the Eastern Mediterranean The energy sources discovered on the sea floor since the second half of the 20th century have caused chess moves to turn into an energy game. However, actors who do not shape the rules of the game with moves in accordance with international law are trying to gain gains that are not in line with equity. In this context, efforts to unlawfully eliminate Turkey, which is one of the states that have the longest coastline in the region and therefore one of the beneficiary states of the resources in the sea beds, continue. Within the framework of international law rules, maritime jurisdiction areas, problem areas and energy resources sharing struggles are discussed.
