During the study, 5458 fruit flies materials were collected from the region, prepared and identified in Entomology Laboratory of Biology Department, Gaziantep University. The results of identification, revealed 71 fruit fly species belonging 23 genera (Aciura, Urophora, Acanthiophilus, Campiglossa, Capitetes, Dioxyna, Ensina, Euaresta, Heringina, Oxyna, Spathulina, Sphenella, Tephritis, Tephritomyia, Trupanea, Xyphosia Chaetorellia, Chaetostomella, Orellia, Terellia, Ceratitis, Hypenidium, Rhagoletis) from 5 subfamily (Aciurinae, Myopitinae, Tephritinae, Terellinae ve Trypetinae) determined. With this study, a new species was recorded, described and named as Urophora turkeyensis. Also Dioxyna sororcula, Terellia ivannikovi and Urophora trinervii were recorded for the first time from Turkey in this study. Regional identification keys were prepared for the subfamily, genera and species. Besides, morphological descriptions, adult, wing, aculeus photos and aculeus illustrations were given. There has not been comprenshive research about fruit flies in the study region so most of these species were recorded for the first time in the region. Therefore, results of this study will be an important source to the future studies.
