Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, dominant freshwater bacterial species were identified and characterized at designated stations on the Aksu Stream in the Aksu District of Isparta Province. Traditional microbiological techniques and molecular methods were used to comprehensively analyze the bacterial communities found in the freshwater environment. In the study, freshwater samples from 3 stations were analyzed. Acinetobacter johnsonii, Aeromonas sobria from station 1, Lactococcus garvieae, Aeromonas sobria and Pseudomonas sp. from station 2, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterobacter ludwigii, Pseudomonas sp.and , L. garvieae from station 3. In addition, antibiotic resistance profiles of the identified bacterial species were analyzed by both conventional and molecular methods. According to the results of the study, all isolated bacterial species showed resistance to amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin and ampicillin. In addition, 'sul(1)' antibiotic resistance gene was detected in L. garvieae, S. epidermidis, E. ludwigii, Pseudomonas sp. bacteria. This study it provides important information on microbial diversity and antibiotic resistance in freshwater resources and highlights the importance of incorporating molecular diagnostics into sustainable environmental management practices. The results are important to address ecological risks and protect the health of freshwater ecosystems in the long term.
