Abstract (EN)

The purpose the present research is to investigate the effects of activelearning and traditional methods on students? achievement in use of EnglishGrammar Rules and the correlation between achievement and gender.Pretest-posttest experimental research design with control group has beenused in the research. Active learning has been used in experimental group, traditionalteaching methods in control group. The research has been conducted at a primaryschool. The students have been chosen among the volunteer learners.Data has been gathered by an achievement test. Mean, Standart Deviation,t-test, Analysis of Variance and Covariance have been used in the analysis.At the end of the research it has been found out that active learning is moreeffective than traditional method on English achievement. It has also been found outthat the effects of the active learning and traditional methods on students? Englishachievement do not differ significantly according to students? genders.Key Words: Active Learning, English Grammar Rules
