Abstract (EN)

In this study, total concentration of elements in the stream sediments of mine drainage source of two different mineralizations and surrounding agricultural fields in the south and eastern part of the Turkey were determined to evaluate the level of contamination. The average concentration shows that mineralizing originated toxic heavy metals in the stream sediments have a controlling influence on accumulation and transportation of both lithologically and anthropogenically. Metal enrichment and geoaccumulation factors values of Mo, Cu, Pb, Zn, As, V and Cr indicated that the stream sediments in the massive sulfide Koçali Cu mineralization area both lithologically and anthropogenically polluted due to polimetallic mineralizations. However, the stream sediments in the Alpine type Guleman Cr deposit area metal enrichment factor values of Pb, As, Ni, Sr and Ba and geoaccumulation factor values of Pb, As, Sr, Ba and Rb indicated that these values are higher than background values and heavily contaminated in addition to enrichment factor of Cr is moderate contamination due to high Cr concentration in host rock but not according to average of earth Cr concentration. There are two settlement places in the study area which are Koçali and Guleman townships. That is why these regions should be evaluated of relationships between human health and geochemistry, further multidisciplinary studies according to pollution indices values in this study. Key Words: Contaminant factor, enrichment factor, geoaccumulation index, Koçali and Guleman stream sediments.
