Abstract (EN)
Polyphylla fullo (Linnaeus, 1758) is one of the most important pests of vineyard. Larvae of this species feed on roots of vineyard. Ingenerally, the larvae is found under the soil. For that reason, control of this pest is very difficult . The adults mostly feed on pines foliage. In this study, the seasonal activity of the adult beetles of P. fullo was studied between 16 April-24 July in 2016 in two vineyard locations situated in Alaşehir and Sarıgöl districts, Manisa province of Turkey. The specimens have been collected using light traps. The traps were checked at one week intervals. At the end of the study, 792 specimens of P. fullo were evaluated. Total 199 and 593 specimens were collected from the localities in Alaşehir and Sarıgöl respectively. Despite the small differences between trapping localities, generally their number start to increase from June, reaches a high level in mid-June and early July, and decreases fromthis time. It was never collected after second half ofJuly. In addition, the morphological features of the species both male and female are decribed and illusturated.
