Abstract (EN)

Biography studies, which have an important place in military history studies, provide information about both the personality studied and the period in which the personality lived. In the biographies that cover the commanders and soldiers in history, we often come across people who made a certain reputation and made a name for themselves in the period. However, there are personalities whose names are not mentioned much and whose faces are often not even remembered, although they did important work in their own time and made many sacrifices. One of them is Brigadier Mehmet Neşet Bora, known as Çopur Neşet. Mr. Neşet, who was born in 1889 in Manastır, started the Erkan-ı Harbiye School in 1908 after graduating from the Military Academy here, but was sent to the fronts before he could finish his last year due to the Balkan and World Wars that broke out. Thus, Mr. Neşet, whose military life on the fronts started early, lived a long-term military life from before the Balkan War to the National Struggle Period and after. Mr. Neşet, who worked both at the front and behind the front until his retirement in 1937, spent the last few years of his life in jobs other than military service. He died a short time later in 1945. In this study, Mr. Neşet life and military activities were discussed by using the documents and resources of the period, as well as photographs, documents and belongings of Mr. Neşet himself.
