A study of the naats and Miraciyes in Ali Şir Nevâyî's hamse

A Study of the Naats and Miraciyes in Ali Şir Nevâyî's Hamse Nearly all Turkish poets of the classical era wrote naats. A poet conveys his admiration and affection for the Prophet Muhammed in these types of poetry. Upon examining the geographical scope of Turkish literature in the fifteenth century, the power and effect of Ali Şir Nevāyī's poetic art in Central Asia become evident. The poet is the first owner of a hamse in Turkish literature. The Anatolian poets followed his hamse, which included the mathnawis Hayretü'l-Ebrâr, Ferhâd ü Şîrîn, Leylî vü Mecnûn, Seb'a-yi Seyyâr ve Sedd-i İskenderî, due to its content and features. In their introductions, every mathnawi that comprises Nevāyī's hamse has classical sections like tevhid, münâcât, naat, miraciye and sebeb-i telif. It is significant because, in light of Nevâyî's naats and miraciyes, he was a true devotee of the Prophet Muhammed as well as a poet who followed the classical order. His poems and miraciyes are the ones with the most sincere and effective expression of his poems with religious and mystical content. This study of the poet's poems explores the commonalities between his artistic, cultural, and civilization-building qualities and those of Anatolian poets, while also highlighting the differences. The study examines the poems and miraciyes in Ali Şir Nevâyî's hamse and explores the common themes explored in these sections through representative couplets from five masnavis. While Ottoman poets generally treated the naats in the introduction sections of the masnavis independently of the main theme, Nevâyî gave each naat its due and began to explore the subject from this point on. In other words, his naats can be evaluated independently or as part of the main theme.
