Envisagement of civilization and Islam in the thought of Aliya Izzetbegovic

In this research, Alija Izetbegovic's envisagement of civilization is discussed. Through the claim that Izzetbegoviç developed a envisagement of civilization this study, explained why Izetbegovic was trying to develop a envisagement of civilization through the perspective of inter-societal relations. In this context, it has been determined that Bosnia and Bosnian Muslims have historically been in a struggle for identity, and in this regard, the social dynamics and variables behind Izetbegovic's envisagement of civilization have been revealed. This was achieved by classifying the data obtained as a result of the main problems and sub-questions posed within the scope of the research into certain conceptual themes and associating them with each other. As a result, Bogomilism, the Islamization process in Bosnia, the inter-societal relationship that Bosnia was exposed to, and the influence of the Ottoman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire on Bosnia and Herzegovina in this process, as well as the nationalism of Bosnian Muslims, their opposition structures, and finally Izetbegovic elements such as what he understood from Islamic renewal, Islam as a bipolar unity, and his intellectual and active stance in the post-Yugoslavia process were revealed as the most basic components that built his envisagement of civilization.
