Abstract (EN)

Alopecia areata is a dermatological disease that leaves no temporary scars. Although the etiology of the disease is not fully known, it is thought that environmental, immunological and genetic factors may cause the disease. Alopecia areata is usually diagnosed based on clinical findings, but dermoscopy and histopathology may be helpful. The disease is difficult to treat. In our study, asprosin and adiponectin levels, which we think may have a role in the diagnosis and treatment of alopecia areata, were examined. Blood samples were taken from 40 patients diagnosed with alopecia areata and 40 healthy control groups who applied to the Harran University Faculty of Medicine, Skin and Venereology Clinic. Asprosin and adiponectin levels in serum samples obtained from blood samples were examined by ELISA method. Data analysis was performed with SPSS. As a result of the statistical analysis, the average asprosin level in patients diagnosed with alopecia areata was observed to be significantly higher than in the control group (p<0.001). The average adiponectin level in patients with alopecia areata was found to be significantly lower than the control group (p<0.001). As a result of the study, it was concluded that more studies should be investigated on the relationship between alopecia areata and asprosin and adiponectin levels, as asprosin and adiponectin seem to have a role in order to elucidate the etiology of alopecia areata and develop new methods for the treatment of the disease
