Operating room personnel's affecting factors of occupational safety: The case of Trabzon province

One of the working environments that carry significant risks and dangers in terms of the health and safety of employees is hospitals that provide health services. Health personnel working in the operating room are more likely to face these risks and dangers, especially during the pandemic period.This research is "a descriptive and cross-sectional study conducted to evaluate the occupational safety and the factors affecting the occupational safety of the operating room personnel. Female operating room personnel working rather than male personnel, those who work for 40 hours rather than 41 and more than 41 hours, those who look after 5 patients rather than more than 5, those who are not on duty to those who are on duty, those who use personal protecting equipment to those who do not use, those who receive Occupational Healt and Safety (OHS) training to those who do not receive, those who are exposed to soft tissue trauma to those who do not experience soft tissue trauma, those who do not rest regularly to those who rest regularly, those who do not exercise to those who exercise, those who have sleeping problems compared to those who do not have have higher occupational safety. Activities should be organized to increase the occupational safety of male operating room personnel. The working hours and the number of shifts of the operating room personnel who work for 41 or more hours and who are on duty should be arranged so that they can allocate time for their social life.
