KTU Farabi Hospital cost analysisin patients with diabetic foot treated

Approximately % 50 of the diabetic patients are under risk of developing diabetic foot throughout their lives and the diabetic foot is the most infulential situation which affects the life quality among the other diabetic croniccomplication. Diabetic foot increases the costs because it requires hospitalization, long term medical and surgical treatment. This work searches to findIn this study, KTU Farabi Hospital Cost Analysisin Patients with Diabetic Foot Treated.Retrospective is a descriptive study between 18-85 ages in 2009-2014 (5 years), KTU Farabi Hospital Plastic Surgery Service patients (32 cases) which are hospitalized for being diabetic foot and who has got HbA1c value are included into this research. Demographic information, treatments, laboratory results, hospitalizing periods and costs of the patients are collected. Qualitative numbers and measurement aldatas (age, blood values) will be calculated by taking their average deviation and Standard deviation and descriptive statistics will be occur. % 68,8 was male and % 31,2 was female of these 32 patients. Their avarege age was 65,44. % 84,4 of the patients has got HbA1c level above 7 (mg/dl). These patients are hospitalized approximately 24 days and their treatment cost is approximately 5023,0313 TL for each patient and also it is detected that % 31,2 of these patients has got amputation history. Because of the disorders of the life quality, hospitalizing frequency and its increases factors, the treatment costs are increasing nowadays so diabetic foot is an important complication. The education, daily foot care and medical examination by the Ministry of Health are going to decrease the cost of the diabetic foot infections.
