The effects of pre-starter feeding on fattening performance and carcass features of anadolu-t and ross 308 chicks

The present study, effects of pre-starter feed application used in the first 5 days after hatching in Anadolu-T and Ross 308 commercial hybrids were investigated at the end of the 42-day performance and carcass parameters of the chicks. According to the experimental design, a total of 4 feeding treatments in 2x2 factorial design were created for Ross 308 and Anadolu-T hybrid chicks feding control and pre-starter diets. Each hybrid group was composed of 10 subgroups with 24 chicks each with 240 birds, so that a total of 480 animal materials were used. Feed and water were given ad libitum. The chicks were subjected to weekly weighing to calculate live weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion rate. According to the findings, the difference in genetic affected the body weight gain throughout the trial. In terms of pre-starter feed, a significant difference was observed between the pre-starter and control groups from the 0 to14th day. When the cumulative feed consumption of Anadolu-T and Ross-308 hybrids is compared a significant difference were observed (P <0.01) from the day 0 to14 of the experiment. The differences between Anadolu-T and Ross 308 male hybrids compared on the 42 day, live weight (g/chick), hot and cold carcass weight (g/chick), abdominal fat weight (g/chick) and abdominal fat ratio (%) were statistically significant at P<0.01, P <0.01, P <0.01, P <0.05 and P <0.01, respectively. The differences between hot and cold carcass weight of Anadolu-T and Ross 308 male at the 42-day slaughter abdominal fat weight (g/chick), abdominal fat ratio (%) were also statistically significant at P< 0.01, P<0.01, P<0.01, P<0.05, P<0.01, respectively.
