The examination of Anadolu University ÖYP research assistants' satisfaction

In this study, the satisfaction of Anadolu University Teaching Staff Training Program (ÖYP) research assistants' was examined by binary logistic regression, and also their job and life satisfaction relation was investigated via correlation analysis. ÖYP, implemented for meeting Turkey's growing teaching staff need since 2002, is expected to continue until 2025. The uniqueness of study is that any study has not been found about job and life satisfaction of research assistants involved in the program. In the study, ÖYP research assistants' satisfaction of Anadolu University was investigated by using academic satisfaction scale and demographic questions. Because of academic satisfaction scale having many questions, exploratory factor analysis was applied and provided to reduce the structure, and obtained eight factors which explain the job satisfaction. Obtained factors and demographic variables were examined by binary logistic regression analysis for ÖYP research assistants' satisfaction of Anadolu University. The satisfaction of Anadolu University ÖYP research assistants' has been impressed significantly with such independent variables, job itself, the perceived prestige of institution by ÖYP research assistants, having academic work time, supporting scientific research by institution and university of bachelor's degree. The life and job satisfaction relationship were examined by correlation analysis, and found statistically significant positive correlation between the two variables. According to the results of study, spillover assumption in which the job satisfaction of ÖYP research assistants' positively affect life satisfaction, has been occurred.
