Abstract (EN)
A culture tends to lose its essence by undergoing a number of changes as a result of its interactions with environmental cultures. Japanese people did not use the elements they received from other cultures without a degree of Japanization. Thus, they brought their traditional culture to the present day. It is the Japanese woman who clearly reflects these changes in culture. Japan is remarkable for its ability to preserve its traditional values even in this age of globalization. One of the best ways to introduce this traditional culture to the whole world is the Japanese animation "anime", one of the tools of popular culture. In this study, firstly Japanese traditional culture is examined in terms of cultural and historical perspective in order to understand the position of women in this culture. Within the scope of this research, the position of the women in Japanese traditional culture was analyzed by descriptive method.
