Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to study in detail the individual passive solar greenhouse models with different types and carrier construction and covering materials for small-scale family businesses in Ankara province, and to reach optimal solutions by evaluating them as a whole in the design of passive solar greenhouses. For this purpose, 35 small-scale greenhouses were randomly selected in districts where greenhouse farming is intensively carried out and field surveys were conducted. According to the results of the study, it was determined that heating costs are high in continental climate conditions, production is limited to the summer season, serious damages, collapses and out-of-use were observed in greenhouses built without considering regional climate conditions. In the thesis study, alternative constructions, carrier glazing, modularity and optimum greenhouse designs according to maintenance cost criteria were studied in order to reach a passive greenhouse model that is heated by solar radiation according to climatic requirements and can adjust the temperature and humidity values inside the greenhouse through natural ventilation. As a result of the analysis, an optimum passive solar greenhouse project was developed with the use of energy efficiency and industrial waste in the greenhouse structure along with the use of materials that have completed their useful life. Test production and measurement analyses show that the photon gain inside the greenhouse is high and the inside temperature and relative humidity values can be adjusted to sufficient levels for plant production using passive methods under normal seasonal climate conditions.
