ABSTRACT FIRAT UNİVERSTY INSTİTUE OF SOCİAL SCEİNCES DEPARTMENT OF TURKISH LANGUAGE AND LİTERATÜRE MASTER THESIS NOVELS of ANNAGULİ NURMEMMET (STRUCTURE AND CONTENT) M. Fatih KANTER Elazig-2002, Page: VBT + 218 Annaguli Nurmemmet is one of the greatest authors of contemporary Turkoman Literature in the last period. The author began his literary work with poetry. The author's mind and belief stem from moral and cultural valves of Turkmenistan. Mean while he expanded his aproach into other literary types. İt is possible to study Annaguli Nurmemmet's literary life in two periods. The first period includes tha time when Turkmenistan, under the pressure of Soviet Regime, struggled for indepence. In this period the author shows how Turkoman people were forced to be alianeted from their national charecter and how they were despised for their own historical valves. The other important paint in his novels of earlier period is his persistence in "human love". The author who never assumed an air of hostility toward Russian people has the aim of "universal human love". The second period of Annaguli Nurmemmet's literal life begins with his coming to Turkey. In this period the author tended to historical matters in his novels. The main theme of his literary works in in this periods is the national conscious of history. The author used the style of psychological analysis anda symbolical expression in either his earlier or later literary works. He has also a fluent poetic style in his novels. Annaguli Nurmemmet dedicated his life to Turkish World Literature as a volunteer he reflected the common cultural valves of Turkish Literature in his literary works in his years in Turkmenistan and Turkey.
