Abstract (EN)

Based on the view that both parents will be effective in children's acquisition of certain skills, examining the effects of pre-school children's relationships with their parents on their emotion regulation skills constitutes the problem of the research. The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the relationship levels of 48-66 month-old children in pre-school institutions with their mothers and fathers and children's emotion regulation skills. In this study, the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The study group of the research consists of the mothers, fathers and teachers of 100 children between the ages of 48-66 months studying in kindergartens and pre-schools within primary education in the Maltepe district center of Istanbul in the 2021-2022 academic year. In this context, 100 data filled by 100 mothers and 84 fathers and teachers for their children were reached in the study. While determining the study group of the research, the easily accessible sampling technique, which is one of the non-random sampling methods, was used. The "Information Form" was used to determine the demographic characteristics of the children and their parents, the "Child-Parent Relationship Scale" was used to determine the relationship between preschool children and their parents and the "Emotion Regulation Scale" was used to determine children's emotion regulation skills. In order to test the sub-questions of the research questions and the situations in the other research questions, the normality assumption was tested first. In order to test the normality assumption, Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests were used for each score. In line with the findings, suggestions were presented to researchers, educators and families.
