Abstract (EN)
Ibn Khaldun (İbn Haldûn) defines states just like human being's life and says that states are born, grow and die. After this definition of state of Ibn Khaldun who lived in the 14th century, so many states were born, grew and destroyed. The Ottoman Empire is one of those states and perhaps of the greatest ones. Many historians regard that The Ottoman Empire was founded as a state in 1299. However some historians like Halil İnalcık regard The Battle of Bapheus (1302) as the foundation of the Ottoman Empire.
