Abstract (EN)
Hemedân (Persian Hemedân, Old Persian: Haŋgmetan, Ekbatana), which is one of the important cities of Iran's geography, became an important center of empires in Ancient and Middle Ages. In this study, "The Hemedan from Antiquity to the Middle Ages". When we make a general assessment of the city based on the information obtained as a result of the literature screening, it is seen that Hemedân became the center of the intersecting roads of Iran in the region due to its history and geographical location. Starting from the ancient times, except for local civilizations, large domination civilizations such as the Assyrian State struggled to acquire Hemedân and intersecting roads in the region. It is seen that Hemedân became an important city of civilizations such as "Elam, Gutti, Lullubi, Manna", etc. Although, especially geographical conditions and winter season caused difficulties in the city, communities and tribes continued to survive here. Medes used the city of Hemedân as the only center and provided the security of the city by building a "Castle Palace". The fact that Hemedân was a city far from dangers and could be protected against all kinds of dangers, such as a house that could take refuge, enabled many states to be founded here and was preferred because of its convenience for defense. As a result of the information given by the Ancient and Medieval ages writers about Hemedân, it was understood that the city was a popular and draw region.
