Agriculture terminology in Mongolian dictionaries with Arabic letters

Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it has been aimed to unveil the agricultural terms and their output in Mongolian written in Arabic Letters technically during the Middle Mongolian period and cover the XIIIth and the XIVth centuries of the Mongolian Empire. In the study, primarily, the subject of Mongolians and Agriculture was dwellt upon. It has been attempted to specify the Central Asia agricultural activities prior to Genghis Khan era and the agricultural terms and activities during what is politically known as Middle Mongolian Genghis Khan era and later Mongolian, from resources mainly being Mongolian, as well as many other cultures such as Turkish, Arabic and Persian, which the Mongolians interacted with. The obtained agricultural terms were identified by their usage style from semantic perspective, etymology samples were sometimes transferred, the agriculture and the activities related to it belonging to the substructure of Mongolians and the cultures interracted with them were comparatively shown, the meanings and if available the usage of the words in today Mongolian were cited.
