Abstract (EN)
This research meticulously examines the strategic significance of international television channels broadcasting in Arabic from the perspective of "soft power." Specifically, it highlights the role of TRT Arabic in Turkey's communication strategies with the Arab world. However, analyses indicate that the channel's impact on Arab communities is more limited than anticipated. The primary focus of the study is to elucidate the underlying reasons and dynamics for this constrained influence. Additionally, the research aims to develop strategic recommendations on how TRT Arabic can enhance its effectiveness and regional influence. In this context, a comprehensive assessment has been conducted regarding the perceptions, expectations, and critiques of Arab viewers towards the channel. The methodological framework of the research incorporates both quantitative and qualitative research methods. In-depth interviews with professionals working at the channel provide insights into its internal dynamics and strategic objectives. A thorough content analysis of the broadcasts offers critical information regarding the quality and diversity of the content presented by the channel. Furthermore, a survey conducted among the viewer base reveals audience analysis and viewer satisfaction. The findings suggest that while TRT Arabic holds significant potential as a regional "soft power" tool, this potential is not fully activated. The operational and strategic challenges faced by the channel pose serious obstacles on its path to becoming an effective regional broadcaster, necessitating strategic guidance to overcome these barriers.
