Abstract (EN)

People have a need to believe in a supernatural power. Because this need is in human nature. While some people express this belief by directly connecting to the Creator, others express it through deeds, words or worship. For centuries, from ancient times to the present day, people have found different methods and ways to practice their beliefs. One of the ways to express or experience faith, which is common in all religions in the world, is to visit sacred places. The sources of beliefs and practices around Albanian tombs are based on paganism, the old religions of the Albanians, and old Turkish beliefs that were transferred to the geography through the Ottomans. By adding religious motifs to these rituals, elements of folk religion were created. The aim of this study is to compile the rituals, practices and legends developed around the tombs, which we accept as the most important places of faith, and to reveal the reasons and times of visits to these places. Another and very important goal of this study is to rediscover these cultural and belief values through compilation. Likewise, the information regarding these is not only preserved in people's memories but also transferred to new generations and written down so that it is not lost. In this study, were discussed the naming, history, architectural situations, history and legendary saint figures of tombs and lodges based on the data obtained as a result of natural observations and interviews. Additionally, were discussed topics such as individual and social reasons for visiting, prohibitions on tombs, lodges, visiting times, practices, beliefs, and miraculous motifs.
