Determination of yield and quality characteristics in barley genotypes (Hordeum vulgare L.)

Abstract (EN)

This research is realized according to randomized complete blocks with three replications to determine the performance of some barley series and registered barley varieties registered by CIMMYT in terms of product and yield elements under Diyarbakir ecological conditions. According to the results of the research, there were statistical differences between barley lines and varieties in terms of number of days to flowering, number of days to heading, SPAD value of the heading period, LAI value of the heading period, plant height, spike length, number of grains per spike, grain weight per spike, grain yield, thousand grain weight and protein content. While significant (P≤0.01) differences were observed, no difference was observed in terms of NDVI values during the flowering period and heading period. Among the barley materials examined, Şahin-91 variety was the latest variety in terms of the number of days to flowering (151 days) and number of days to heading (146 days), while the line coded as Mutant line-1 was found to be the earliest. The highest heading period SPAD value was detected in the TBT16-15 line (51.80), and the heading period LAI value was detected in the Önder variety (6.33). The NDVI value during the flowering period was measured as 0.64-0.72, and the NDVI value during the heading period was measured as 0.72-0.78. Keciburcu variety (110.78 cm) in terms of plant height, Sur-93 variety (8.63 cm) in terms of spike length, Altıkat variety (42.90) in terms of number of grains per spike, DZ7-08 line (1.60 g) and Hevsel variety (1.61 g) in terms of horse weight per spike. ), Kendal variety (564.33 kg/da) in terms of grain yield, Mutant line-1 line (43.22 g) for thousand grain weight and Şahin-91 variety (13.06%) in terms of protein content showed the best performances. Consequently, the lines in the research that show high performance in terms of the examined characteristics will be selected and moved to the next level to be used in breeding researchs.
