Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to investigate the effect of Structured Training Programme about Blood Culture Collection Using Aseptic Non-Touch Technique on nurses's knowledge and skills between December 2015-July 2016 at Ege University Medicine Faculty Children's Hospital Pediatric Emergency Deparment and Gastroenterology / Hepatology Unit. In the first phase of the research; the sample was 20 nurses for pretest and 19 nurses for posttest. In the first stage; the Learning phase of Kirkpatrick's Four Level Training Evaluation Model was implemented. In this stage; the nurses were requested to fill a knowledge test as pretest. Afterwards; Structured Training Programme about Blood Culture Collection Using Aseptic Non-Touch Technique was given to nurses. Nurses were requested to fill the knowledge test as posttest. Prior to training programme, the average score of nurses was found as 39.5±12.86; after training, the average score of nurses was identified as 69.47±14.32. For the analysis of the data, Wilcoxon test was implemented. It was determined that with the training programme, nurses' knowledge scores were statistically increased (p: .000). In the second phase of the research; the Reaction phase of Kirkpatrick's Four Level Training Evaluation Model was implemented. To evaluate the nurses reactions two different reaction surveys were implemented. To analyze the results of Reaction phase, number and percentage tests were applied. To evaluate the relations between Reaction and Learning phases correlation test was conducted. Between these two phases, in the questions about Aseptic Non-Touch Technique instructions, educational content, education duration and general satisfaction from education, statistically significant correlations was detected. Key words: nursing; pediatrics; blood culture; training evaluation; Kirkpatrick.
