Abstract (EN)

Born in Erbil, the poet Atāullah Hacı Reşit Ağa, showed a keen interest in literature from a very young age. He left behind handwritten poetry collections in the form of journals. From these handwritten journals, it is evident that Ataullah Ağa received a profound education in literature. Alongside the poems of some Turkmen and Turkish poets, these journals also contain poems personally written by Ataullah Ağa.In a general sense, these compiled and organized journals, known as "mecmualar" in Turkish, provide an opportunity to bring many poets, poems, and texts to light, introducing previously unread and undiscovered poems to our literature. Believing that this would be a significant contribution to classical Turkish literature, we undertook the task of bringing to light the handwritten poetry collection of Ataullah Ağa, which demonstrates the characteristics of a literary biography. This project involves the transcription and analysis of the poetry collection found in the personal library of Nesrin ERBİL, the daughter of Ataullah Ağa, who is a prominent figure in Iraqi Turkmen literature. The first 212 pages of the 5th chapter of this quite comprehensive magazine constitute the subject of our study. Since the chapter is classified on the basis of poets, we gave each poet a number and entered it in the table in order to make our table more understandab. In addition to the poems of poets from the Erbil and Kirkuk regions, the collection also includes biographies of some poets under the heading of "tercüme-i hal" (biographical translation). Therefore, we found it fitting to include the phrase "tezkire özelliği gösteren" (demonstrating the characteristics of a literary biography) in our thesis title. We believe that the biographies found in this collection will also make significant contributions to our classical literature. Our work is structured according to MESTAP (Middle Eastern Studies Thesis and Project Portal) guidelines, covering a content table, Ataullah Ağa's life, and translation sections of the collection.
