Verbs in Atebetü'l Hakayık

This work is prepared to define the repertory of Atebetü?l Hakayık in terms of verb as the main element of grammar. Therefore it is the main subject, first of all Atebetü?l Hakayık and 5 basic masterpieces which belong to this period have been reviewed and the study has been finished in 4 sections. In the first chapter , the method of this study and the plan are prepared after an introduction part. In the first part, a short backround of the historical progress of literary language, and the position of Karahanlı Turkish are explained, and people are informed about both Atebetü?l Hakayık and the writer Yüknekli Edip Ahmet and Karahanlı Period and Atebetü?l Hakayık are examined in terms of their phonetic and morphology aspects. And each information is supported with examples. As a principle part of this work, second section includes the verbs and their structure. The second section is designed for gerundial examination. This section includes gerundial particles with their usages as noun, adjective, and adverb in Atebetü?l Hakayık. Third section is totally designed for verb inflection and the particles for this. The periodical features of the verb inflection and their position in Atebetü?l Hakayık are examined in this section. In the fourth and the last section, the vocabulary of the work is presented statistically with charts. The thesis is accomplished with a dictionary including the verbs in Atebetü?l Hakayık and a bibliography. In this work Atebetü?l Hakayık, including 17 parts, 512 lines, 50 couplets, 103 verses, 2728 vocabulary, is examined in terms of 129 bare, 112 derived, 216 compound and totally 457 verb formation.
