Abstract (EN)

Due to the world population, the increase in material consumption and economic developments, the significant increase in waste materials such as waste glass has become an important problem in terms of air and environmental pollution. As a result, the idea of recycling waste materials has increased its attractiveness. Waste glass powder has pozzolanic properties due to the silica it contains. For this reason, the use of waste glass powder in concrete will provide an additional advantage. Lightweight load-bearing concrete is a special type of concrete with a compressive strength greater than 16 MPa. Lightweight load-bearing concretes are especially used to reduce the dead load of a building and the weight of the reinforced concrete structural elements to be used. The aim of this project; is to produce lightweight concrete by replacing waste glass powder with cement. For this purpose, light concretes with different mixing ratios will be produced and concrete samples will be obtained. The samples obtained will be subjected to strength-endurance and sulfate effect tests. According to the data obtained from the test results, the production of environmentally friendly and load-bearing lightweight concrete will be determined. Since there are not enough studies in the literature on the usability of waste glass powder in lightweight concrete and there is no production of lightweight concrete with waste glass powder additive yet, as a result of the positive results obtained from this study, a great contribution will be made to both the literature and the construction sector.
