Abstract (EN)
In this study, pyrolysis fuel from end-of-life waste tires was tested for its suitability as a different fuel source for diesel engines. Crude tire pyrolytic fuel (HLPY) was obtained by negative pressure (vacuum) pyrolysis from an end-of-life waste tire disposal company. Distillation acid-clay method and oxidative desulphurization method were applied to improve the combustion properties of HLPY. The improved tire pyrolytic fuel (LPF) was blended with standard diesel fuel at 20% and %30 by volume. The blended fuels were designated as P20M80 and P30M70. The blends were used in a single cylinder, direct injection and air cooled diesel engine at a constant speed of 3000 rpm. The effects of blended fuels on the specific fuel consumption, specific energy consumption and effective efficiency of the test engine were examined. Test results; for all three fuels, specific fuel consumption gradually decreases depending on the increasing load ratio. The decrease in specific fuel consumption is clearly seen up to 75% engine load. Another important result is that brake specific fuel consumption was increased when using pyrolytic oil. The best fuel consumption data is obtained at a 20% mixture ratio. Brake specific fuel consumption was obtained lower for 20% blended fuel at 3000 rpm engine speed. The increase in FET at the same load values is related to the low energy content as a result of increasing the LPY content and the inability to bind with oxygen in sufficient amounts due to high density. It is seen that the FÖET values of P20M80 blend fuel are good at all loads. There was no significant increase in the FÖET values of blended fuels according to all loads.
