Abstract (EN)
The hasty and uncontrolled expansion of industrialization has led to severe contamination of clean water resources. The amount of wastewater, especially from the production of the textile industry, is increasing day by day and causes water pollution worldwide. Pollution of accessible clean water reserves, which are found in limited quantities throughout the world, with various toxic substances adversely affects the life of human beings and all other living things. For this reason, it is aimed to remove Methylene Blue (MB) and Bright Blue R (BBR) dyes, which are widely used in many areas of the industry, especially the textile industry, from wastewater. Three different magnetic nanocomposite materials (MNK) were designed for the removal of selected dyes via adsorption and photocatalytic degradation processes. In the thesis study, for the adsorption process; two different nano adsorbents were synthesized: Fe3O4/ZnO/CuO/ Gleditsia triacanthos (MNC1) and Fe3O4/ZnO/CuO/Cynara scolymus (MNC2) with a molar association ratio of 1:1:1:1. According to the data obtained from the preliminary experiments, it has been decided to continiue the study with MNC1. For the removal of MB dyestuff using MNC1 from water in the batch system; adsorption; pH, adsorbent amount, adsorbate concentration, contact time, salt effect, adsorption-desorption cycle and real wastewater parameters were studied. For 0.05 g adsorbent amount, optimum adsorption conditions for MB; were determined as; 60 min. contact time, 25 mg L-1 adsorbate concentration and pH: 7.17 (original pH value of the dye solution). For the photocatalytic degradation process; Fe3O4/ZnO/5CuO/ Gleditsia triacanthos (MNC3) nano photocatalyst with a molar coupling ratio of 1:1:5:1 was synthesized. Optimum conditions for photocatalytic degradation of BBR were determined to be 254 nm wavelength light, 0.02 g photocatalyst, 120 min contact time, 25 mg L-1 adsorbate concentration, and pH 7.54. (original pH value of the dye solution). Adsorption data were evaluated with pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, intraparticle diffusion kinetic models and Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubinin-Radushkevic (D-R) isotherm models. Characterization of MNCs was performed by SEM, FT-IR, UV/GB, Zeta Potential, DLS and Mössbauer Spectroscopy. MTT (3-(4,5-dimethyldiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) and LDH (Lactate Dehydrogenase) techniques were used to analyze the cytotoxicity of MNKs. Key Terms: Waste water, dyestuff removal, magnetic nanocomposites, photocatalytic degradation, adsorption Science Code: 91520
