Abstract (EN)

This study is conducted on atmospheric plasma surface treatment applied during rubber and nonwoven materials bonding process. One of the most important problem in bonding two different materials together is due to low surface energy of the material. The rubber material that is used for producing rotary shaft seals shall be enhanced layer of surface energy in order to achieve required bonding force during bonding process. By utilization of atmospheric plasma surface treatment in two different environment and with two different materials bonding force has been enhanced. Surface control of the parts that are applied atmospheric plasma has been carried out by doing breaking test with water. Bonding behaviours of parts with atmospheric plasma surface treatment and without atmospheric plasma surface treatment is investigated i.e. effects against bonding force with atmospheric plasma surface treatment and bonding behaviour of a rubber with two different conditions after atmospheric plasma surface treatment. Besides the atmospheric plasma surface treatment is being an enhancer for bonding between rubber material surface and nonwoven surface in the matter of bonding quality and resistance, it also conserves its bonding features in the working environments of rotary shaft seals.
