Abstract (EN)

In order to ensure economic growth and development, countries are assigned to a regional economic integration. The European Union is regarded as the most successful economic integration example. In the recent years, Eurasian Economic Union has been one of the leading economic integration initiatives and this initiative attracts attention because of its huge market potential and energy infrastructure. This thesis focuses on the relationship between Turkey and Eurasian Economic Union which was estabilished by Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. Therefore, the current status of economic relationship between Eurasian Economic Union and Turkey is examined. Trade, investment and energy relations are analized as the most perspective areas. In order to evaluate the Eurasian Economic Union as a regional economic integration, the theory of economic integration and its development, stages and the effects of economic integration together with the development process of the region are examined. The current problems, enlargement efforts and the future of the Eurasian Economic Union are evaluated considering the political crisis of Russia and the Western countries. The perspectives of Eurasian Economic Union and its relationship with Turkey are determined. Keywords: Economic integration, Eurasian Economic Union.
