The United States of Europe: A review of identity, culture and heritage

Almost all concepts in social sciences, like identity and cultural expressions, are subjects of frequent debates, making it difficult to reach a common definition. As individuals are constantly evolving and producing, these concepts need to continuously expand their contents due to the emergence of new phenomena. Each new development necessitates staying current to maintain relevance in these concepts. The European Union represents the concept of creating a single state in Europe that has been ongoing for hundreds of years. The European Union is the coming together of different nations in Europe to build a supranational structure. Being a federal entity, the European Union remains a frequently debated topic in the context of current events. Questions like why the European Union, what supranational approaches mean for the future of Europe, and the possibility of the European Union are subjects that scholars, politicians, and activists, especially political scientists, contemplate and discuss. This study is built on examining this debated idea in terms of identity and culture. The hypothesis of the possibility of the United States of Europe has been discussed by examining European identity and culture from different perspectives.
