Comparative analysis of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the 6. grade English language curriculum

Common European Framework of Reference for Languages was prepared to provide a framework to guide the activities for teaching languages. ?Foreign Language Teaching? is one of the issues handled in the process of Turkey?s entrance to the European Union. This paper aims at determining whether the 6. Grade English Language Curriculum is in conformity with the Common European Framework. The research is qualitative and Case Study? theory and ?the Document Review? technique are used in the study. 6. Grade English Language Curriculum and the Common European Framework have been compared and contrasted in terms of goals and objectives, content, learning and teaching process and evaluation strategies. At the end of the comparisons, it has been found out that 6. Grade English Language Curriculum was prepared in line with the Common European Framework and is at A2 level as to the language proficiency levels.
