Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the recreational activity tendencies of students at Aydın Adnan Menderes University and the factors hindering their participation in these activities. The research was conducted using a quantitative method and employed a correlational survey model. The population consisted of 40,012 students, and a sample of 505 participants was selected with a 99% confidence interval. Personal Information Form and Leisure Constraints Scale were used as data collection tools. The findings reveal that students' recreational activity tendencies are influenced by demographic characteristics (age, gender, family income level, and parental education) and the adequacy of recreational facilities. The most common leisure constraints identified were individual psychology, lack of time, and inadequate facilities. Additionally, the way students evaluate their leisure time and the frequency of using recreational facilities created significant differences in their perception of constraints. The results emphasize the need for university administrations to develop strategies for improving recreational facilities and enabling students to use their leisure time more effectively.
