Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to examine the organizational culture of Aydın High School within the context of cultural analysis, drawing on the views of past and present stakeholders. The research was conducted using cultural analysis, a qualitative research design. The study included 26 participants, including teachers, administrators, students, and parents, all current and former stakeholders of Aydın High School. To identify participants, the following were used: maximum diversity was achieved by reaching both current and past stakeholders of the organization to benefit from the views and perceptions of a wider range of stakeholders across different periods; snowball sampling was used to identify individuals who could be sources of information regarding the problem based on the recommendations of the interviewees as the process progressed; and criterion sampling was used to examine all situations that met predetermined criteria. The research data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, and semi-structured interview forms were used in the interviews. The data were analyzed using content analysis. According to the research findings, the opinions of past and present administrators regarding the organizational culture of Aydın High School were examined. Past administrators preferred to work at Aydın High School because they were deeply committed to the school, felt strong and happy at the school, and had a high sense of belonging and motivation. Current administrators, however, have been observed to prefer working at Aydın High School because it is a successful school, yet feel unhappy and unmotivated, with a symbolic sense of belonging and low motivation. While past administrators expressed their perspectives on the culture through significant achievements in activities and happy and motivated teachers, current administrators have expressed their perspectives on the culture through a weak institutional culture, a lack of team spirit, and a lack of trust. When examining the opinions of past and current teachers regarding Aydın High School's organizational culture, it is clear that past teachers are mostly graduates of Aydın High School and have a strong attachment to the school, while current teachers prefer working there because it is a well-established and qualified school. Past teachers established a strong institutional culture through team spirit and solidarity, embracing the institution, and transferring culture to newcomers. While this culture is gradually weakening in the current era, it has been observed that the school still maintains a well-established culture thanks to the teachers' transferring it to newcomers. Teachers from both eras expressed their hope that the buildings on the Aydın High School campus, which had been made available to other institutions, would be re-incorporated into Aydın High School, thus removing extramural elements from the campus. When examining the views of Aydın High School graduates and current students regarding the organizational culture of Aydın High School, both groups stated that they felt privileged to be students. Perceptions of symbols revealed that the Aydın High School March held great significance for alumni, but held little significance for current students. When examining the views of former and current parents regarding the organizational culture of Aydın High School, it was revealed that they chose this school for reasons such as academic success, its popularity, or necessity. Past parents reported positive communication with teachers, but stated that they had better communication with the administration than with previous administrations. Current parents, on the other hand, stated that they generally had no communication problems with the school administration and teachers, but communication ties were not particularly strong. When examining perceptions of school culture, past parents emphasized the ingrained culture of the school due to the long-standing tenure of the same teachers. Current parents, on the other hand, appear to have little understanding of the school culture but expect the school to be more socially active. In the past, parents expressed the need to remove non-school elements from the campus and return all buildings to Aydın High School. Furthermore, current parents have expressed a desire for the school to be more active in social and sporting activities, particularly the establishment of a folk dance team.
