Analysis of energy efficiency of led light sources in lighting

Nowadays, given the importance of energy efficiency is increasing daily. Therefore in a global world today lighting system, especially the electricity produced in our country has known to consume about one-third, using LED systems while designing process has been known as efficient light source that is increasing day by day. However, LED light sources as well as being an efficient systems alone, designing by using LEDs has a impotant issuies in order to obtain an efficient lighting system. Unless attention to these issues, to obtain efficiency in LED systems is not possible, also can cause serious problems in terms of life time of LEDs. Therefore, Designing of prototypes with LED fixtures by using simulation and graphical methods must also be examined by experimental methods and should be well known in terms of measurement methods. This study will be discussed at this point. These issues in LED systems is to investigate in terms of thermal, optical and electrical aspects, also reveal the possible experimental factors that can reduce efficiency. But first, in the first part of the study has been focused on the Lighting terminology and basic concepts. In the second part of this study has been focused on the basic information regarding of lighting systems and has been clarified the parts constituting luminaire and has been also mentioned relevant information the calculation of efficiency and losses for LED light sources. In the third section, the experimental applications have been made in refering efficiency of LED's thermal, optical and electrical characteristic. As a result of the experimantal application, The negative factors affecting efficiency has been discussed in terms of thermal, optical and electrical aspects and also been clarified theese factors.
