The Second Karabakh War is a war that started again between the forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the region occupied by Armenia after the First Karabakh War, which took place between 1988 and 1994. This war started on September 27, 2020 and lasted 44 days. The war ended with the victory of Azerbaijan. It is the most intense conflict in the region since a 27-year ceasefire. When the fighting began, Armenia declared martial law and launched full mobilization. Azerbaijan declared martial law, imposed a curfew, and declared partial mobilization as of September 28. Armenia has violated ceasefires many times, and in some cases ceasefire negotiations have failed to begin. Although Russia initially refrained from intervening in the conflict, it later provided aid to Armenia following its significant losses. The Armenian side has attempted to involve third-party countries and has repeatedly targeted cities, civilians and civilian infrastructure outside the designated war zone. As a result, this war put the Armenian army in a critical situation and was stopped with the active participation of Russia. With the signing of the "Triple Declaration" document between the parties on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire was declared and all military operations were stopped.
