Abstract (EN)

The aim of the thesis is to state that in European energy politics, Azerbaijan has a new role with the projects like BTC and TANAP by supplying both energy sources and sustaining energy security for the countries with safe and secure transit routes. The resources of energy, oil and gas are relevant to the activities of humankind and important for the states to run their industries. One of these regions that need to import energy resources is Europe. Although there has been a long term dependence on Russia about the energy resources, the EU countries agreed on a new alternative route like Caspian Region to supply their energy needs. After the regaining of their independence, with the vision of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan became the new alternative for oil and gas for Europe and gained a new role in European energy politics. Energy security is also important for the business to run without interruption. Therefore, Azerbaijan, with its rich resources, infrastructure, and capacity to provide the needed energy is a good alternative for Europe and a strong player in international energy politics.
