Investigation of the knowledge level of producers about good agricultural practices in viticulture: An example of Gaziantep province

In this study; It is aimed to determine the demographic characteristics and knowledge levels of farmers who have good agricultural practices (GAP) certificate in viticulture in Gaziantep and to analyze the relations between them. In the questionnaire created for the study, the information of 65 participants was taken and descriptive statistics were presented with frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation values. KR21 reliability coefficient was calculated for the scale used to determine the level of knowledge. In the study, Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis test were used to examine the differences in the knowledge levels of the groups according to the characteristics of the participants. Correlation and regression analysis were performed to examine the relationships between the knowledge levels of producers and agricultural characteristics. According to the results of the analysis, it was observed that the GAP knowledge level was higher in the participants with a low year of dealing with agriculture, a high vineyard area and a higher annual yield. It has been observed that the producers with low experience in viticulture and with a high school or higher education level have the highest level of knowledge on GAP. Within the scope of the survey, the questions asked about examining the knowledge levels of the participants are 'Chemical residue tests of the food produced within the framework of ITU regulation are carried out once a year.', 'Occupational health and work safety is not among the control points of the ITU standard.' The situation of encountering over-limit active substance can be ignored for some products.' statements were seen as the statements with the lowest level of knowledge. It can be predicted that the trainings to be given on these expressions will positively increase the general GAP knowledge level of the participants.
