Abstract (EN)
Discrete Singular Convolution (DSC) method is proposed as a wavelet based technique having global methods' accuracy with local methods' flexibility. In recent years, researches on the development of the method are still proceeding. Although performed improvements increase the use of the method, there are still unsolved problems via the DSC, i.e. implementation of impedance boundary condition, connecting non-stepped structures, combining the DSC with a proper uncertainty analysis tool to analyse uncertain structures. This doctorate thesis mainly deals with the development of a DSC algorithm to analyse uncertain connected structures. The original studies in this thesis may be grouped in three categories, i) solution of individual structures with impedance boundary conditions, ii) analysis of connected structures, iii) uncertainty analysis of individual / connected structures. For the first category, bars and acoustic ducts having impedance boundary are selected as test structures. For the second category, algorithms to connect individual structures are proposed and tested on three different systems, i.e., i) acoustic transmission lines, ii) connected beams having different connection orientations, iii) stiffened plate constructed by connecting a beam and a plate. Polynomial Chaos Expansion (PCE) is combined with the DSC method for the third category. All results are validated with any of analytical solutions (if applicable), numerical methods and a reference study from the literature. It is proper to say that, the proposed methodologies present unique advantages in the vibration / acoustic analysis of structures.
