The relationship between attachment styles hopelessness and self esteem

In this research, it was aimed to investigate the linking pattern(Safe, Obsessive, Unregistered, Scared), that develops between child and child caregivers in early childhood, self-esteem during adulthood and its impact on hopelessness. The sample of the research consists of 378 undergraduate students attending Mersin University Çiftlikköy Campus. Data from the study were collected using the Personal Information Form, the Beck Hopelessness Scale, the Relationship Scale Questionnaire, and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Analysis of the data were used pearson correlation analysis, independent samples t test, regression analysis, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). As a result of the study, there were no statistically significant correlations between Age Variables and Beck Hopelessness Scale scores and subscales of the Relationship Scale Questionnaire. A positive and statistically significant relationship was found between the subscales of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Relationship Scales Questionnaire with safe attachment, indifferent attachment, obsessive attachment and fearful attachment. A positive and statistically significant relationship was found between the Beck Hopelessness Scale scores and the subscales of the Relationship Scales Questionnaire with a positive correlation with secure attachment, indifferent attachment, obsessive attachment, and fearful attachment.
