Immigration from Azerbaijan to Europe in the post-independence period analysis

Abstract (EN)

Throughout history, the migration of people from one place to another has continued due to the effects of many factors such as political, ethnic, demographic, environmental and so on. In the modern age, migration affects the course of world politics in various ways. The aim of this study is to reveal the economic and demographic aspects of the migration processes in Azerbaijan and to develop proposals to improve the immigration policy of the state. In this study, which deals with the formation of the migration process starting from the first immigration period in the history of Azerbaijan until today, especially after the declaration of the independence of the Azerbaijan Republic, the reasons of migration from Azerbaijan to European countries and the consequences of these reasons were examined. For the analysis of the migration from Azerbaijan to Europe, Germany was chosen as the exemplary state and the inter-state relations of the two countries and diaspora activities were analyzed . As a result, the current situation of Azerbaijan regarding population migration and the historical analysis of the migration relations with European countries, especially Germany, is examined and it is observed that the migration from Azerbaijan is caused by both economic and political factors.
