Abstract (EN)

Glazes attracting attention with their metallic and different effects are mostly included in the reduction glazes since the past. Metallic effects and different color transitions formed on the ceramic surface as a result of reduction cause highly attractive artistic appearance. When the metallic glazed and decorated tiles are examined, it is seen that special metallic printing bases, granules, special glazes are used and metallic effect can be obtained by oxidation firing. Metallic glazes have a narrow firing range and appropriate firing conditions must be applied to produce the desired metallic surface. They are usually applied to the surface of baked glaze. In the study, metallic surface formation of copper oxide added glaze compositions under oxidizing firing condition were investigated. Ceramic forms and industrial forms have been studied to develop single firing glazes suitable. Metallic effects seen as a result of the studies were obtained as two different groups, matte and glossy. As a result, the melting behavior of the recipes, crystals on the surface, color, brightness and opacity values were examined and the usability of metallic glaze applications on industrial forms was observed.
